Minor girl raped and killed in Tripura

A minor girl who went missing from her home at a village in Tripura's Dhalai district was found raped and killed, police sources said today.
The girl was watching television with her parents and did not return after going out at Raima village in Gandacherra subdivision of Dhalai district on February eight, the sources said.
The parents, after finding her missing, informed a nearby camp of the paramilitary Tripura State Rifles who recovered her body next day.
The sources said that she was murdered after rape.
One person was arrested.
In another incident, a youth was arrested yesterday and another was absconding after the rape of another minor girl in Rani Panchayat area under Kakrabon police station of Gomati district, the sources said.

The arrest was made after a complaint was made on February eight for the rape on January 26.
A police complaint was not lodged earlier as the villagers unsuccessfully tried for an amicable settlement, the sources added.
