Minor girl repeatedly raped by father

A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her father for about an year in Bhiwandi here, police said today.
The 43-year-old accused was yesterday arrested from Shanti Nagar locality in Bhiwandi.
The accused raped his minor daughter on different occasions between May 2015 and March 2016. The accused first sexually assaulted his daughter when the family had gone to their hometown Gulbarga to attend a marriage last year, PSI of Shanti Nagar police station, B D Renjad said.
According to the girl's complaint lodged on April 9, the accused had threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the incidents to anyone.

Based on the girl's complaint, the accused was arrested.
Her father was booked under section 376 (rape) of IPC and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The accused was produced before the local magistrate today that remanded him in police custody till April 16, the police officer said.
