Minor girl rescued from brothel that was raided last year

A 14-year-old girl has been rescued by West Bengal Police from a brothel here which was raided last year by Delhi Police's Crime Branch.
A team of 24 Parganas district police raided the brothel number 56 on GB Road yesterday and found the girl there, raising questions on the crime branch's claim that the prostitution racket run by a couple had been busted.
The brothel was last year raided by Delhi Police, the couple, Afaq Hussain and Saira Begum, operating it arrested and lodged in Tihar jail.
"The girl who was missing from her home in 24 Parganas was rescued by West Bengal Police from the brothel on the basis of specific inputs.

"The girl's presence in the brothel owned by the kingpin couple lodged in Tihar jail points to still flourishing network of human traffickers," said a member of NGO Shakti Vahini that assisted police in the raid.
The girl had contacted her family four-five days ago. Her family then approached police who swung into action.
