The girl was outside her house in Aliganj area last night when two youths, Ravindra and Omveer, of neighouring Pachder village started harassing her, SP (rural) Brijesh Kumar Srivastava said.
When she resisted, they opened fire on her, killing her on the spot, he said.
Villagers who gathered at the spot caught Omveer and handed him over to the police while the other accused managed to flee.
The SP said efforts were on to nab the other accused.
