Minor shot dead by jilted lover in UP

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly shot dead by a jilted lover who later surrendered before the police in Narhera village here.
Himanshi, a class VIII student, was shot dead yesterday by Yogendra (22), when she was on her way home from school here, a police spokesperson said today.
In a complaint, the girl's grandfather, Baljeet Singh said, the accused who was the owner of a beauty parlour, used to follow her about following which she complained to her family about it.
Her family took up the issue with Yogendra's family, angering him and he shot her dead. He then went to the nearest police station and surrendered, police said.

A murder case has been registered against him and he was sent to jail today, they said.
During interrogation, the accused told police that he killed Himanshi as he was in love with her but she turned down his proposal and complained to her about about him, they added.
