This is for the second time that the Minority Affairs Ministry has extended the deadline. Earlier, the Ministry had extended last date for submitting the applications till August 31 from July 31.
"The decision has been taken this keeping in mind, a large number of requests and suggestions received from people across the country regarding extending the deadline," a statement quoted Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs (Independent Charge) Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi as saying.
Similarly, the objective behind giving post-matric scholarship is to award meritorious students from economically weaker sections of minority community so as to provide them better opportunities for higher education, it said.
