Miscreant loot Rs 3 lakh from man

A motorcycle-borne miscreant today looted Rupees three lakh from a person, who was on his way to deposit the money in the bank in Bistupur here, a senior police officer said.
Tapas Das along with his friend was on his way to Bistupur on a motorcycle to deposit the money in a branch of State Bank of India when a lone miscreant on a two-wheeler came from opposite direction and attacked Das with a knife, Superintendent of Police (city) Karthik S said.
The miscreants snatched the bag containing the cash from Das and decamped following the attack, he said adding that the cash was to be deposited in the account of his neighbour Seema Jaiswal.

Das told police the money was collected from the chit fund and was to be deposited in the bank.
Police has began investigation into the incident, the SP added.
