Two persons have been arrested on the charge of circulating "old and misleading videos" on the social media about attack on churches here, police said today.
The video claiming fresh attacks on churches by right wing activists was circulated widely on WhatsApp just after the results of assembly elections were out on May 15.
But it was found to be a copy of the attacks on churches that occurred in September, 2008, police said.
They said a suo motu (on their own) case was registered in this connection and after investigations Sunil Veigas (34) and P P Sachit (23), residents of Chikkamagalur district, were arrested on May 30.
