Julia Morley, the chairwoman of Miss World has announced that next year onwards there would be no swimsuit round.
The Miss World pageant is trying to keep up with its theme of 'beauty with a purpose' and Morley feels bikini round does not serve any purpose.
"I really don't want-I don't need to see women just walking up and down in bikinis. It doesn't do anything for the woman. And it doesn't do anything for any of us," Morley, 74, told Elle magazine.
Rolene Strauss, 22, of South Africa became the 64th Miss World recently. She would be the last beauty queen to feature in the bikini round.
