The body of Harshman Paukhriyal, who went missing on January 16, was found in a sugarcane field here yesterday, a police official said here.
Paukhriyal's body bore several injury marks, he added.
The astrologer had come to Shamli from Pauri town in Uttarakhand earlier this month.
A missing complaint had been lodged with the Uttarakhand police by his family after he went missing on January 16, the official said.
The Shamli police has registered a case of murder against unidentified miscreants, he said.
