Afghan officials have said the two Chinese men who were reportedly abducted in a recent raid in Afghanistan were involved in the plot, state-run Global Times reported.
Three Chinese nationals including two women and a local person was killed in the attack last week.
One of the men escaped and visited a NATO-led facility and later met with Chinese officials.
Sediq Sediqqi, spokesman of Afghan Ministry of Interior, said the two Chinese men who went missing after the attack had fled the scene and were the suspects in the incident. He added one of them was being interrogated by Afghan police.
Sediqqi said the police are still searching for the other Chinese man who went missing.
