The girl who had gone to school in Chanakyapuri area did not return to her home on September 1. A case of kidnapping was registered in this connection at Chanakyapuri police station, said a senior police officer of New Delhi district police.
During investigation police found that a neighbour of the girl, Ram Lal, was also missing from the day the girl failed to return home from school.
Several raids were conducted but the girl remained untraced. Finally, a police team reached Ram Lal's home state Chattisgarh and rescued the girl and the arrested the accused from Bilaspur, said the officer.
