The title was revealed by Cruise, who made his debut on Instagram, sharing a pic of a clapper board with the film's name written on it.
"Get ready," Cruise captioned the photo.
In another Instagram post, Cruise shared a still of him holding on the side of a helicopter mid flight.
"We've upped the ante for the sixth #MissionImpossible, I can't wait for you guys to see more," wrote the 55-year-old actor.
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, "Mission: Impossible
Fallout" will also feature Henry Cavill, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Sean Harris, Angela Bassett, Vanessa Kirby, Michelle Monaghan, Alec Baldwin, Wes Bentley and Frederick Schmidt.
