Mizoram government has rejected the offer for conditional tripartite talks from Manipur-based militant outfit Hmar People's Convention (Democrats), state Home Minister R Lalzirliana said here today.
The state government recently received an offer from the HPC(D) faction led by H Zosangbera to hold tripartite talks with the central and state governments under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution, Lalzirliana told PTI.
"We are always ready for unconditional parleys based on mutual trust," he said, adding that the talks held earlier were also unconditional.
He said the government had informed the Hmar militant group about its unwillingness to hold conditional talks and also the involvement of the Centre as the state government did not have any problem with it.
The last negotiations between the state government and the HPC(D) reached a deadlock in 2013 over extension of the suspension of operations (SoO) with the outfit demanding political level talks.
