MLAs take oath in UP assembly

Newly elected members of the
Uttar Pradesh assembly were today administered oath of the house by Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey.
Pandey administered oath to ten of the 11 members who won the bypolls held earlier this month, in his chamber in the presence of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, his ministerial colleagues and other senior leaders.
Those who took oath were Krishna Gopal Patel, Kaptan Singh, Mahenda Patel, Shiv Charan Prajapati, Nawab Jan, Ruchi Bera and Banshidhar Baudh from Samajwadi Party and Ashutosh Tandon, Vimla Batham and Rajiv from BJP.
Samajwadi Party had won eight and BJP three assembly seats in the by-election held on September 13.
