Mob attack hospital in Baharampur

Two civic police personnel were injured and the Mursidabad Medical College and Hospital by a mob of hawkers when an attempt was made to evict them from the hospital premises today.
The hawkers turned violent when authorities tried to evict them from their illegal possession of land within the hospital premises, a police official said.
The hawkers and some locals went on a rampage and smashed glass panes of windows and doors of the hospital by pelting stones. Two civic police personnel suffered stone injuries when they tried to restrain them, he said.
Later the mob was dispersed by police.
