Four armed men accosted a mobile repair shop owner Awadh Kishore Singh and his 12-year old son Ratnesh when they were returning home after closing the shop last night. There was some altercation before they shot at the father and the son, Superintendent of Police Hari Prasath said.
While Ratnesh died on the spot, his father was seriously injured with multiple bullet injuries.
Hearing the shots, locals came out and overpowered three of the four assailants who were firing indiscriminately in order to flee the spot.
Meanwhile, Awadh has been taken to Patna Medical College and Hospital where his condition is stated to be critical, he said.
