Five mobile phones, SIM cards and narcotic substances were seized from a sub jail at Aska in Odisha's Ganjam district during a raid today, police said.
The seizures were made from the wards of the prison during the raid conducted jointly by the district administration and police, said Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Aska, Subash Panda.
Police said call details of thhe mobile phones would be examined as part of investigation. Over Rs 20,500 in cash was also recovered from the jail inmates, they said.
As many as 199 under-trial prisoners, including five female inmates are lodged in the sub-jail against its capacity to accommodate of 140 inmates, prison sources said.
