Based on a complaint from BSNL authorities, police formed a special team to nab the culprits and during a routine vehicle check, four persons were found moving in a car with three batteries near Kothagiri, about 25 Kms from here, this afternoon, police said.
Since they were not not giving proper reply, the four--identified as Gandhi, Azhagudorai, Anburaj, hailing from Senkottai and Logeshkumar of Kadayanallur- were taken to the police station, they said.
Inquiry revealed that they were indulged in stealing UPA and Battery on the towers and base on their information seized 36 batteries, valued at Rs 2.5 lakh. Their car also was seized, police said.
