Moderate fog in Delhi, 50 trains delayed

Shallow to moderate fog descended on Delhi today and restricted visibility throughout the day, delaying services of nearly 50 trains in the northern region.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 25.2 degrees Celsius, four notches above average, while the minimum was pegged at 7.8 degrees, a Met Department official said.
Visibility was reduced to 300 metres at 5.30 AM and 400 metres at 8.30 AM at Safdarjung. It increased to up to 800 metres later, the official said.
At Palam, visibility was reduced to 400 metres both at 5.30 AM and 8.30 AM. It increased to 1,000 metres at 11.30 AM and further to 1,300 metres at 2.30 PM.

According to a top Railway official, 50 trains were running late while 28 others were rescheduled in the northern region.
The humidity oscillated between 97 and 48 per cent.

The weatherman has predicted a mainly clear sky for tomorrow with the likelihood of moderate to dense fog in some areas and very dense fog at one or two places.
Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 24 and 8 degrees Celsius respectively, he added.
The minimum temperature yesterday was recorded at 7.5 degrees Celsius and the was 24.3 degrees Celsius.
