Moderate to heavy rain in several areas of Himachal Pradesh

Moderate to heavy rains lashed several parts of Himachal Pradesh as monsoon remained active in the mid and lower hills, leading to a drop of 2 to 3 degrees in minimum temperature.
The day temperatures also dropped marginally by the rains which triggered landslides at various places. Twenty-nine roads were closed, including 15 in Kangra, 11 in Shimla, two in Mandi and one in Hamirpur circle.
Naina Devi was wettest in the region with 81 mm rain followed by Pandoh at 47 mm, Arki 35 mm, Pachhad and Rajgarh 26 mm each, Sujanpurtira 24 mm, Jogindernagar 33 mm, Kasauli 21 mm, Bharari 20 cm, Renuka 15 mm, Bhoranj 14 mm, Sangrah 13 mm, Solan 11 mm and Kumarsein 10 mm.
Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest, recording a minimum temperature of 8.4 degrees Celsius followed by Kalpa 9 degrees, Manali 10.8 degrees, Shimla 14.1 degrees, Solan 15.8 degrees, Palampur 16 degrees, Dharamsala and Nahan 16.7 degrees Celsius.
Bhuntar recorded a low of 18 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 18.2 degrees and Una 20.6 degrees Celsius.
Una was the hottest at 34 degrees Celsius followed by Bhuntar 33 degrees, Sundernagar 31.4 degrees, Dharamshala 26.8 degrees, Shimla 24.7 degrees, Manali 23 degrees and Kalpa 22.6 degrees.
The local Met office has predicted thundershowers and rains in lower hills and rains or snow in higher hills in isolated places upto September 14.
