Moderately hot day in Delhi

It was a moderately hot day in the national capital with both the maximum and minimum temperatures settling below normal levels even as high humidity caused discomfort to Delhiites.
The Safdarjung observatory, whose reading is considered as the official figure for the city, recorded the maximum temperature for the day at 36.3 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal while the minimum temperature settled at 26 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average, a MeT department official said.
The observatories at Safdarjung, Lodhi Road, Palam, Ayanagar and Ridge recorded 0.3 mm, 1.2 mm, 2.4 mm, 2.1 mm and 15.2 mm rainfall till 8.30 AM.

Between 8.30 AM and 5.30 PM, traces of rainfall were recorded at Ayanagar weather station.
Humidity level oscillated between 74 and 37 per cent.
The MeT predicted partly overcast conditions along with the possibility of light rain for tomorrow.

"The skies will be partly cloudy. Light rain accompanied by thunderstorm is likely to occur in the morning and night tomorrow.
"The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 36 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 40.7 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was pegged at 29.5 degrees Celsius.
