Modi chairs meeting to discuss launch of 'DD Kisan' on May 26

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today chaired a meeting to discuss the preparations for launching Doordarshan's 'Kisan TV' on May 26, to coincide with the first anniversary celebrations of the NDA government.
According to sources, a 30-minute meeting was held this evening which was attended by Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley, MoS for I&B Rajyavardhan Rathore and top officials of I&B ministry and Prasar Bharati.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister was apprised about the content and preparations for the launch of the channel.
Officials said the 24X7 channel for farmers will be launched by Modi at a ceremony in Vigyan Bhawan on May 26.
In his Union Budget 2014 speech, Jaitley, who also holds the charge of the Finance Ministry, had announced that a TV channel will be dedicated to the agriculture sector, for which he had marked an outlay of Rs 100 crore.
