"The BJP government, which has taken many anti-people decisions during the past over a month of coming to power, has shown that the future is far from being bright," the Congress leader said while addressing a party rally at Ladwa in Kurukshetra district.
"The BJP sold dreams of 'ache din' (good days) to people. During the Lok Sabha elections, an atmosphere was created and people were made to vote for an individual and not for any policies or programmes of BJP. An impression was given that the individual (Modi) has some magic wand which will solve all problems facing this country," Hooda said.
"Its policies, including increase in train fare, fuel and sugar price hikes, have started burdening the people. Besides, the price of cooking gas is all set to increase. Instead of bringing 'ache din' for the people, BJP has brought 'mehnge din' (days of price rise)," he said.
Hooda said people were made to expect that once Modi became the Prime Minister, diesel will be sold for Rs 40 per litre, milk for Rs 20 per litre and prices of other consumable items will also be slashed.
Speaking on the occasion, former party MP from Kurukshetra industrialist Naveen Jindal said BJP only sells dreams to people, but fails to deliver.
"Haryana has prospered during the Congress rule. We will work even harder to further lead our state on the growth of progress," Jindal said.
