"Bravery is good but overt bravery is not good. If he had uttered such words in any other state, he would have been slapped. It is because it is our state that he was spared," Banerjee said about Modi's remarks that illegal Bangladeshi immigrants would be sent packing after May 16.
"Who is he to say such things in my state? Law and order is a state subject and it is my jurisdiction. How dare he say such things?" Banerjee, the Chief Minister, told an election rally.
"It is really tragic and exceptional that 90 per cent of media houses in India have sold themselves to Modi. They are only dancing to Modi's tunes. A day will come when an inquiry about how media houses were sold out would be made", she told a meeting at Talla Park in north Kolkata.
Repeating her claim that TMC would be the third largest party after Lok Sabha polls, she said "in the next one year, I will stay in Bengal from Monday to Friday and the remaining one day I will tour India and Trinamool will be the number one party surpassing BJP and Congress".
"Even before the baby is born, they have have decided the baby's marriage. Someone is filling a balloon with more and more gas which will burst soon," she said.
She wondered how BJP could raise money through 'Modi-for- PM' campaign and charged it was illegal and unconstitutional.
Banerjee also criticised the Congress candidate from Kolkata North Somen Mitra, a TMC leader who had switched back to his parent party.
"During the last Lok Sabha polls, he begged with me for a seat. I gave him one and after he enjoyed all the benefits for the last five years he is saying that he belongs to Congress. I don't want to utter the name of such a person," Banerjee said.
