"He (Modi) has done well in Gujarat. Similarly he will do well at the national level," Patel told reporters on the sidelines of a programme.
"Because of Modi's vision, Gujarat has led the nation in several fields like agriculture, industry and education," he added.
Patel was here to inaugurate a one-day national workshop on 'research and development and its impact in the current the context', organised by Saurashtra University.
"We have to think different and avoid old techniques to compete with international standards," Patel said.
"Though the state government has paid attention in every field, maximum funds have been allocated in the education sector. Modi believes that everyone should have quality eduction and therefore 13 centres of excellence in engineering colleges have been set up in the state so far," he said.
