Molestation bid: American tourist records statement in court

A court here today recorded the statement of an American tourist on whom a molestation bid was made by a taxi driver three days ago on her way from Delhi to Rishikesh.
Police produced the woman before the court for recording of statement under section 164 of the CrPC.
The tourist alleged that the taxi drivers had tried to molest her on the Delhi-Dehradun National Highway on May 12.
The taxi driver stopped the car near a roadside eatery and tried to molest her. The woman managed to flee from the spot and reached Rishikesh by another vehicle.
Based on her complaint, an FIR was lodged and a case registered against the taxi driver Samey Singh. He was later arrested.

Meanwhile, police are trying to file a charge sheet against the accused in the case before the tourist leaves the country.
