The mortal remains of paratrooper Mukut Bihari Meena were today brought to Jaipur from Srinagar, an Army spokesman said.
Meena, a three para regiment jawan who used to work with Sector 8 Rashtriya Rifles, was killed in a gunfight with a militant group in Kupwara on July 11.
Army commander of Sapt Shakti command Lieutenant General Cherish Mathson paid homage to Meena after which the mortal remains were taken to Kota, the spokesperson said.
The body could not be sent to Kota due to bad weather conditions. Later, the body was sent to Meena's native Ladania village in Jhalawar district by road, he said.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje also condoled the death of Meena and paid floral tributes to the martyr at the Jaipur airport.
She was accompanied by PWD Minister Yunus Khan, MP Ramcharan Bohra, Mayor Ashok Lahoti and other dignitaries.
