Mother of 2 tortured for dowry in Faridabad

A married woman here has complained of dowry harassment by her husband and mother-in- law and alleged that she was mentally and physically tortured by the duo, police said.
The woman, a resident of Alipur Triroli village in Faridabad, has accused her husband Ashok Kumar and mother-in- law Girija Devi of beating her.
In her complaint to Bhupani police, the woman, a mother of two children who said she had married Kumar 13 years back, alleged that whenever she used to ask for money for expenses of the two children, she was tortured and asked to get money from her parents.

She also alleged that she was subjected to mental and physical torture by the accused.
A case has been registered in the matter under the relevant sections of IPC although no arrests have been made yet, said ASI Jan Mohammad.
