Motilal Gouda's house raided

Vigilance sleuths today raided the house of Motilal Gouda, who is absconding after being accused of defrauding the state government by issuing fake gazette notification and swindling public money.
The raids were conducted on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets by Gouda, who has been suspended from the post of assistant director of Factory (Medical) of the Director, Factories and Boilers, Odisha, vigilance officials said.
The raids were conducted at his official residential quarters here, his native place located at Chandiput in Gajapati district and his father-in-law's house at Ashok Nagar in Berhampur town.
Some diagnostic centres were also raided as they were allegedly in the network of Gouda, who is an accused in the health insurance scam.
An official statement said Gouda acquired properties worth lakhs in his short span of service period of about seven years.
Value of Motilal's assets would rise further after through search of Mount India Occupational Health Centre and Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. Dr Reshma Manjari Gouda, wife of Motilal Gouda is the Director in Mount India. The centre has been sealed by the crime branch in connection with Crime Branch case, it said.
Four bank accounts (2 in name of Motilal Gouda and 2 in his wife's name) have been identified and further verification is being done, the vigilance statement added.
Preliminary report said Gouda's properties are worth about Rs 60 lakh.
Gouda had allegedly issued a notice while working as a medical officer in the health department empanelling five pathological laboratories in the state for medical checkup of industrial workers.
It later came to the government's notice that the doctor had been sacked from the health department on November 17, 2015 for remaining absent from duty for a long period unauthorisedly and wilfully.
But he was caught working as an assistant director in the department of factories (medical) after an inquiry.
