Opposition Congress in Madhya Pradesh has demanded disciplinary action against two senior IAS officers for reportedly making a presentation on organising a "krishi mahotsav", before the state executive meeting of BJP.
A delegation of Congress leaders, led by its state unit president Arun Yadav, today met state Chief Secretary Antony Desa, alleging that Principal Secretary (Agriculture), Dr Rajesh Rajora and Secretary to the Chief Minister, S K Mishra, have violated the Civil Services Conduct Rules by making such presentation recently.
"The two officers met senior RSS leader Suresh Soni last Friday in the BJP office and the next day Rajora made a presentation before the party's state executive meeting," Yadav said in a memorandum handed over to the top bureaucrat.
Yadav said that Rajora made the presentation in the presence of two Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Thawar Chand Gehot and also state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
"Since Rajora was aware that he was being protected by the top leadership, he decided to violate the All India Service Conduct rules conveniently," Yadav said, adding that the disciplinary action is necessary against the duo to avoid recurrence of "such incidents".
When contacted, Rakesh Singh, BJP MP from Jabalpur, said, "Nothing is wrong in it(officers giving a Presentation). If any other bodies or NGOs wish, such presentations could be made before them as well.
