Congress is yet to release list of its candidates for the November 25 state Assembly elections.
Jaiwardhan along with his father and other family members, filed his nomination papers at Raghogarh, 47 km from here.
Today is the first day of filing of nominations for the elections. The last date for filing nominations is November 8 and withdrawals would be allowed till November 11.
Jaiwardhan came in a convoy of over 150 vehicles but apart from him, only four persons including a lawyer were allowed entry inside the Collectorate for nomination filing.
Bhadoria, who was in his 80s, was expected to contest the elections but he passed away.
Digvijay told reporters at the Collectorate that "even the secularism of Sardar Patel would never have condoned the riots that took place in Gujarat in 2002".
