The Madhya Pradesh Transport Department has collected Rs 2,852 crore revenue in 2017-18, as against the target of Rs 2,800 crore, a top official said here today.
"We have collected Rs 2,852 crore revenue even as the target set before us was Rs 2,800 crore for the financial year 2017-18," senior IPS officer and state Transport Commissioner Shailendra Shrivastava told PTI.
"The target was achieved four days before the end of the financial year on March 31," he said.
According to the official, since 2013-14, the department has been witnessing a steady rise in its revenue collection.
While the revenue collected in 2013-14 was Rs 1,598 crore, the figure stood at Rs 1,864 crore in 2014-15.
In 2015-16, the revenue collection was Rs 2,073 crore, while the next year it was Rs 2,300 crore, he said.
Shrivastava said the revenue collection target set for the department in 2018-19 is Rs 3,200 crore.
