Four persons were arrested for their alleged involvement in the recent petrol bomb attack inside the Meghalalya Public Service Commission (MPSC) building, police said today.
Two persons entered the office of the MPSC and hurled a petrol bomb in the room of the Commission's Secretary WAB Booth damaging documents and computers on July 10.
The four arrested includes one person, who was paid Rs 50,000 by somebody to hire two others to hurl a petrol bomb, East Khasi Hills District SP Davis NR Marak said.
He, however, refused to identify the arrested men and said a manhunt is on for the main culprit.
The SP said the motive of the attack would be known only after the arrest of the person or persons who had paid them.
Marak said the accused persons, who were arrested yesterday, have been booked for arson and trespassing into government property.
They have been produced before the Court and were remanded to 10 days police custody, he said.
