MSEDC engineer held for graft

An engineer of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDC) was arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from an electrical contractor, ACB has said.
MSEDC's Additional Executive Engineer in Vashi, Sunil B Kathale had demanded Rs 10,000 from the contractor for sanctioning power load in a building, ACB's Additional SP, Thane Range, Srinivas Ghatge said.
The contractor lodged a complaint with the Navi Mumbai unit of ACB, which laid a trap and nabbed the official while he was allegedly accepting the money in his office yesterday, he said.
The accused has been charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act, the ACB official said.
