"As it looks at the moment, Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises (MSMEs) are the current future of West Bengal, but large industries also do have a place here," newly-elected president of Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) Alok Roy said.
Stating that the industrial outlook of the state government was positive, Roy told reporters that vast number of MSME clusters which were being planned would give tremendous boost to the state's economy.
"Kolkata does have the potential in transforming itself into an analytical hub as the city was host to a number of renowned educational institutions," Dasgupta said.
What is needed is a push from both the government and the chambers of commerce, so that analytical companies, both big and small, are encouraged to set up base here, he said.
The chamber is also keen on facilitating business with neighbouring Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal.
