Mukund, Larriere reach last eight of ITF Futures

Second-seed Sasikumar Mukund of India was among the three seeded players to reach the quarterfinals of P S Kailasam ITF Men's Futures Tennis Championship 2017 at the Powerpak Tennis Academy here today.
Mukund made short work of compatriot Dalwinder Singh 6-1, 6-3 to advance along with No.4 seed Colin van Beem of the Netherlands and Haadin Bava of India.
Earlier in the day, Jui-Chen Hung of Taipei completed the formality of ousting top seed Sumit Nagal with a 6-3, 6-3 win in a match stopped yesterday owing to bad light.
However, Hung went down in the next match, losing 2-6, 2-6 to Korea's Seong-Gook Oh.
In other matches, Frenchman Clement Larriere upset eighth seed Cameron Silverman of the US 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (5) in a match of fluctuating fortunes. Kelsey Stevenson of Canada played attacking tennis to down fifth-seed Lucas Gomez of Mexico in straight sets.

Second round: Arjun Kadhe (Ind) bt Tae-Woo Lee (KOR) 7-5 (retired); Colin van Beem (NED) [4] bt Vinayak Sharma Kaza (Ind) 7-6(8), 1-6, 6-3; Kelsey Stevenson (Canda) bt Lucas Gomez (Mex) [5] 6-3, 6-4; Seong-Gook Oh (Korea) bt Jui-Chen Hung (Taipei) 6-2, 6-2.
Haadin Bava (Ind) [6] bt Ranjeet Virali-Murugesan (Ind) 6-3, 6-3; Jayesh Pungliya (Ind) bt Ju-Hae Moon (Korea) 6-1, 6-0.
