Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who has been under attack in Rajya Sabha over a CAG report, was today at the receiving end of a jibe in Lok Sabha during debate on black money.
"If you have to seek somebody's suggestion on black money, then you should consult him (Gadkari). He can give you best suggestions about it. He can even bring back black money," said Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav in a lighter vein.
He said this to treasury benches when Gadkari entered the House and took a seat in the front row while he was speaking on a bill to deal with black money stashed abroad.
Yadav was responding to a point made by Kirit Somaiya (BJP) who took potshots at Congress members, saying they knew the problem of black money inside out, from how it is generated to where it is hidden. "You can help our government in uncovering it."
Gadkari, however, did not respond and kept smiling.
Yadav said leaders from both the Congress and BJP have given long speeches on the sensitive issue but none of them have spoken about the valuation of black money.
"How much is the black money in India and abroad? You should tell us," he said.
Demanding Gadkari's dismissal, the opposition has been disrupting proceedings in Rajya Sabha since Friday over a CAG report alleging irregularities in loan extended to his family-linked Purti Group.
