UDF Govt neglecting Wayanad district: CPI-M

CPI(M) Kerala Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today charged the UDF Government with neglecting tribals in the neighbouring hilly Wayanad District and sought a special package for comprehensive development.
Inaugurating a blockade organised by the CPI-M district committee at Kalpetta protesting over the issue, he said though the government had announced various development projects none of them had been implmented so far.
A 'stuntedness' was seen in all spheres, including Tribal welfare and agricultural sector, Balakrishnan charged.
He urged the government to announce a special package for the comprehensive development of the district besides a special assembly session to discuss development aspects of the tribals.
