Murder accused gunned down at traffic junction

A murder case accused was gunned down by assailants at a busy traffic junction on Paradip-Daitary expressway this evening.
The man, who was on a motorbike, was shot at from close by three men who came on another motorbike at busy Shyamsundarpur traffic junction, barely 100 m from Kendrapara rural police station.
Superintendent of police Nitinjit Singh said the man was on bail in connection with a murder case for which he had been arrested last year. He was also accusedof being committing other crimes at Marsaghai area of Odisha's Kendrapara district.
Past enmity with rival miscreants was suspected to have led to his killing, he said adding the identity of the assailants was, however, yet to be established.

Hunt is on for the attackers and a special squad has been constituted to look into the case, the SP added.
