Murder accused shot dead in Rohtak

A 28-year-old man, accused in four murder cases, was today shot dead by unidentified assailants near Jind bypass here.
Neeraj alias Nikku of Ulhana Madina village in Sonepat, who was out on bail and living in a rented accommodation on Ladhout Road in the city, was targeted by the assailants when he was playing badminton this morning, police said.
The assailants came in a car and fired several rounds at him from a close range, reportedly killing him on the spot, they said, adding that the killers then slit his throat with a sharp-edge weapon before fleeing the spot.
On information, Rohtak SP Rajesh Duggal rushed to the spot, along with other senior police officers, and sent the body to PGIMS for a post-mortem.
Later, a team of forensic experts visited the spot and lifted some blood samples from there.
"Neeraj was accused in four murder cases and was out on bail," the SP said, an investigation has begun to identify the killers and nab them.
