Murder convict commits suicide

A murder convict, serving life imprisonment, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself inside the central jail here, police said today.
Nauni Ram (45), who was serving life sentence since 2006, committed suicide yesterday, Jail Superintendent A K Rai said.
He said that body had been sent for post-mortem examination.
Rai claimed that Ram was mentally disturbed for the last few months and was being treated at a district hospital.
He said that two police personnel -- Kailash Chand and Dheeraj Singh -- have been suspended on charges of laxity.
