A gunman opened fire in the Grand Theatre, Lafayette, killing at least two people and injuring seven others before shooting himself.
The 34-year-old actress expressed her condolences on Twitter after police confirmed the news.
"My heart is broken and all my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Louisiana," she wrote.
