The Family Welfare Minister also inaugurated the Central Sophisticated Instruments Cell (CSIC) at the institute.
Nadda said that the inauguration of the services is being done as part of the 'Good Governance Week' which commenced on December 25, birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
He further said that the online registration facility was launched at AIIMS, New Delhi also on December 25, 2015, and has helped to drastically reduce waiting time of patients.
Appreciating PGIMER for being the first institution in the country to start tele-evidence facility for recording evidences through video-conferencing, the Minister said it can save precious man-hours of doctors and result in more patient satisfaction.
As per rough estimate, the institute has saved about 1.93 tonnes of carbon foot prints using the eco-friendly tele-evidence technology, he noted.
Nadda also said the target is to make PGIMER a paperless institution.
The CSIC would ensure availability of cutting edge technology for higher research and management under a centralised facility.
Dedicating the facilities to the people, especially of North India who are more likely to avail of the services, Nadda said that PGIMER, Chandigarh has been one of the pioneers and leaders of medical services delivery in India.
Nadda appreciated the Indian Red Cross for taking up the
initiative to set up a Centre of Excellence in first aid at the Central Training Institute at Bahadurgarh and said this will help provide high quality education in first aid.
"I would like to invite other institutions also to join us to achieve this important objective," he said.
The Health Minister also welcomed the Netherland Red Cross, University College of Dublin, Irish Red Cross and MDA of Israel as the new partners in India.
"I am informed that several corporate houses have supported the Indian Red Cross Society and St John Ambulance in the recent past. I would like to invite other partners from the corporate sector to join us and help us in making the citizens of our great country more resilient", he said.
Nadda also congratulated the staff of the blood bank at the national headquarters that has issued more than 50,000 units of blood and blood components in 2015.
"This is a very important mission of the IRCS and I also exhort the other blood banks run by the Red Cross across the country to adapt practices to encourage voluntary blood donation and to ensure that safe blood is issued to the needy," Nadda said.
He also presented Indian Red Cross certificates of merit to workers during the business session.
