Nagpur records hottest day of season at 47 deg

Nagpur, Maharashtra's second capital, today recorded the highest temperature of the season so far as the mercury touched 47 degree Celsius.
The Vidarbha region of the state is experiencing an intense heat wave for the last couple of days. Apart from Nagpur, Akola registered a maximum temperature of 46.2 degree Celsius and Amravati 45.4 degree Celsius.
The Regional Meteorological Centre here said the heat wave will continue for the next few days, even for a week. The temperatures in the region will settle in the range of 45 to 47 degree Celsius.
In the last ten years, 47-plus degree Celsius temperature was recorded in the city in 2005 (47.6), 2009 (47.9), 2010 (47.9) and 2013 (47.9).
