The government has the responsibility towards the welfare of the families of martyred policemen. If necessary, the corpus fund would be raised further, Naidu said at the police commemoration day here yesterday.
He asked the police personnel to act as trustees of the society and to implement the community policing concept while safeguarding the law and order.
He also advised policemen to use the latest technologies for better policing.
On the occasion, tributes were paid to 653 policemen from all over the country, including three from AP, who lost their lives on duty in the last one year.
State Deputy Chief Minister N Chinna Rajappa and DGP J V Ramudu were also present on the occasion.
