Narain, a mathematics professor at St Stephen's college, won the presidential elections for the second consecutive term by a small margin of 225 votes.
The polling for the elections of office-bearers of teacher's body was conducted yesterday and a total of 6068 votes were polled.
The counting for the same concluded in wee hours today after it was disrupted for a while when the BJP-backed National Democratic Teachers' Front (NDTF) and Academics for Action and Development and Indian National Teachers' Congress alliance (AD-INTEC) alleged that invalid votes were being counted.
She was closely followed by NDTF candidate V S Negi who polled 2165 votes. AD-INTEC candidate Sanjay Kumar polled 950 votes while there were 536 invalid votes.
Fifteen other executive council members were also elected from various teachers' groups for which 22 candidates were in fray.
The council will now choose the vice president, secretary, joint secretary and treasurer from among its members with nine votes required to win each post.
