The National Lok Adalat, organised by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) along with the respective State Legal Services Authorities, dealt with cases ranging from criminal compoundable, recovery, cheque bounce, motor accident claims, family and matrimonial disputes, labour disputes, land acquisition, sales tax, income tax and many others.
"Approximately 23 lakh cases as per the figures received till 4.30 PM, which include 7 lakh pending and 16 lakh pre-litigation cases, have been settled. The total value of the settlement amount reached today is Rs 900 crore," NALSA said in a press statement.
