Accompanied by his wife, Lanba is on a five day visit to to Andaman and Nicobar Command. He was received by Vice Admiral Bimal Verma, Commander-in-Chief of Andaman and Nicobar Command.
Upon his arrival in Port Blair, the Navy chief also called on the Lieutenant Governor.
In the next four days, Lanba will visit the various outlying units of HQ ANC and interact with the troops posted there to get a first-hand overview of their preparedness and well-being, a Navy statement said.
He would also be visiting INS Baaz at Campbell Bay, INS Kardip at Kamorta Island and Naval Air Station (NAS) Shibpur apart from the various units and establishments located at Port Blair.
