NCP activists attack Shiv Sena men in poll related violence

Two Shiv Sena activists from Bhaskar Nagar in Kalwa who were on their way to participate in a procession to file nomination papers for Shiv Sena nominee Srikanth Shinde, were brutally attacked by a group of men, allegedly from the NCP, the police said here today.
Prakash Rajbar and Ashik Rajbar of the Shiv Sena were walking by a temple near the Mafatlal company premises, when they were allegedly attacked by around eight people who were waiting for them, the police said.
After getting badly injured, they were rushed to the Chattrapati Shivaji Hospital at Kalwa, where they are being treated, the police said.
The police has arrested three people, who are all said to be from the NCP. One of those detained rpt detained happens to be the husband of local municipal corporator Rita Yadav, the police said.
Those arrested have been identified as Rajnath Singh, Deepak Sherde and Pankaj Pande, the police said.
